A play runway

There are many routes up to the top of the airport tower that Corocord created as a fascinating world of play and climbing for the Ostfildern Regional Garden Show. The underlying idea for the structure was a reference to the history of the show’s site that had once been a helicopter squadron base.

We have filled the steel construction (idea and planning: Knoll Ökoplan) with life in plenty of forms. For one thing, there is the central climbing tower in which a vertical tunnel of rope nets leads to the top. Intermediate levels with membranes ensure a safe, step-by-step ascent. As an alternative, the children can conquer the tower from the outside via a large climbing net.

The next best thing to flying

The most enjoyable way back to earth is down two large slides that start on the upper levels of the tower. Only a real helicopter flight promises more excitement than this flight through space.
