Small foundation – big fun: The new Star Octa Net makes its debut

COROCORD Raumnetz GmbH has once again been involved in this year’s Federal Garden Show (BUGA) in lots of different ways. As a sponsor of the BUGA 2009 in Schwerin, the Berlin Spacenet Inventors constructed a brand new piece of rope play equipment and assembled it in three play areas: the Large Star Octa Net.

At the BUGA 2009, which is taking place from 23rd April to 11th October in the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, visitors are being presented with the development of the art of garden design from the 18th century to the present day. Plans for play areas for younger visitors have also been considered. "We are delighted that we can make a contribution to the success of the BUGA with our Spacenets. I am convinced that we will provide lots of children with an exciting climbing game with our new Large Star Octa Net", says Maria Molina, Head of Sales at Corocord.

What is special about the new product from the Spacenet manufacture is the innovative support construction: instead of conventional external guyed masts, the play net is supported by three internal crossed struts. This creates three climbable points which are a downright challenge to climb. The fact that the whole construction is tipped on a diagonal is an added attraction. The Large Star Octa Net is not just attractive for children, however. The installers and planners enjoy the advantage of the functionality of the play equipment. Erection of the Spacenet requires only limited space and small bases. This means it is also perfectly suited to indoor spaces and can be erected almost anywhere, even in places where it would never have been previously possible to build similar equipment. At the BUGA itself, the three Large Star Octa Nets can be found in the experience areas "Schwimmende Wiese" and "Ufergarten", as well as in the beach area on the "Ufergarten".

As one of the world’s leading experts for rope play equipment, Corocord has already been represented at many garden show exhibitions with fascinating Spacenets and inventions, often as part of projects in partnership with architects and landscape planners. At the BUGA 1987 in Düsseldorf, we presented the largest Spacenet in the world to date, the Super Four Mast Spacenet in Düsseldorf’s Südpark. For the Munich Federal Garden Show in 2005, Corocord designed an item of play equipment like an UFO: a free-floating play net in a circular climbing wall.
