Textile school visits the Spacenet Inventors

"People make clothes, Corocord makes the original Spacenets." This could have been the slogan for the visit from the pupils of the textiles training centre in Münchberg-Naila, because the first item on the schedule for their Berlin excursion took the visitors from Upper Franconia to the Spacenet Inventors at Corocord.

During the tour of our Spacenet manufacture, Torsten Frank, the company’s proxy of many years, explained all of the stages involved in the production of the rope play equipment. The visitors could also help out themselves under the guidance of experts and form rope rings for building a Spacenet. The highlight of the tour was a test climb on a Spacenet which had just been completed for delivery.

The visitors were particularly interested in the design and production of our Corocord play ropes, because work with ropes certainly belongs to the job description of a state-certified textile engineer. How our six-strand cable rope is wrapped up strand by strand with polyamide yarn and how this is then inductively melted on as an abrasion-resistant coating was demonstrated and explained. This process gives our ropes a particularly strong core while preserving the flexibility of the textile structure. And this is exactly why our Corocord ropes feel so pleasant to the touch.

With all the 'rope know-how' that they took away with them, the prospective engineers thanked Torsten Frank and his team with a towel with the Münchberg coat of arms that they had woven themselves. It was our pleasure to pass on a bit of our knowledge to the young people.
