Seilakademie meets in Schwerin Castle at the BUGA 2009

In the former seat of the dukes of Mecklenburg, Schwerin Castle, the Corocord Seilakademie offered two sessions on the subject of "Playing and Safety" on 3^rd and 4^th June. Numerous participants from municipalities and districts, as well as landscape planners, architects and engineers came to take part in these recognised further education measures from our skills forum.

A special highlight of the interesting seminar was the impressive presentation by Dr. Dieter Breithecker (head of the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft für Haltungs- und Bewegungsförderung e. V. – Federal Working Group for Posture and Movement Support – in Wiesbaden) entitled "Courage is good for you! Child development requires experiences of movement involving daring and risk". Dr. Breithecker talked impressively and yet with a great sense of humour about the countless inhibition thresholds which stand in the way of a child developing experiences in movement. He also demonstrated how support for a childish love of movement can be guaranteed and at the end reached the conclusion: "Movement is clever!".

Next, the BUGA coordinator, Eckhard Schimansky, gave an introduction to the Federal Garden Show in Schwerin. In the concluding tour of the beautifully located site on Lake Schwerin with its many views of the fairy-tale Schwerin Castle, the event was brought to an appropriate close.

The seminar in Schwerin was already the third workshop put on by the Seilakademie since its foundation in June 2008 on the subject of "Playing and Safety". We at Corocord are already looking forward to welcoming even more visitors to new workshops and seminars in the future.
